Hi all, just a quick one.

I have a Q6600 that i bought a couple of years ago, and its currently being cooled by the Zalman Nvidia, CPU cooler thing that they released a couple of years ago also.
It's noisey.

Simple question, will this cpu (not overclocked) be stable with a large heatsink cooler without a fan?

If yes/no, any other recomendations?

Many thanks.

i also use the h50 on my q6600 and it's over clocked to 3.4 and my temps are good.

I suppose it depends on the case ventilation? I did run my Q6600 at stock with a Noctua cooler with no fans on it for a bit in my Antec 900 case and it worked fine. However, I did have the fans on full power and I wouldn't say it was quiet.

I also have an H50 now on my Q6600 and it is very quiet and efficient. Since it uses the exhaust fan to cool the rad it takes one fan out of the equation (the air cooler fan) it is the same as no fans on an air cooler. The caveat on that being that some people have reported noisy pumps. Mine is inaudible.

That corsair cooler looks very tempting.

Does anyone have experience of using that inside a Fractal design case?

Thanks for the suggestions.

when it's on load it dosent go over 45c.
that must be a world record for a q6600 at 3.4 ghz then ? more likely it will hit 70c + on load under Intel burn test, I think you mean gaming load which can vary too depending on how cpu intensive the game is.
