Cooler Master Halo on older boards

Hi all

Just a quick one, Will the Coolermaster Halo 120mm RGB fans work on an older motherboard, Not sure on board model but it's running a 5930k so that kind of indicates the age...

Did a bit of digging & some X99 boards did have RGB port 12v but not ARGB port 5v. Coolermaster do ARGB controllers that plug into the 12v RGB, 5v ARGB & the usb 2 port on a board but I don't know if the board vendors RGB software would be able to control the RGB effects via the 12v (it would be limited if it did) or the USB2 Header. I know the Corsair fans can be controlled by a USB2 header on a board because that's what I use.
