Hi,

My Cooler Master Stacker 832 is rattling and I was wondering if someone may have a solutions for me.

The problem is due to one of the side panels which vibrates noisily especially when gaming. I've had the problem for a while but only now decided to do something about it.

I think it may be the power supply (Corsair 620) which vibrates and sets the thing off.

Would rubber dampeners do the trick? If so what kind? Any ideas?

I had a lian-li pc7 that used to do this.

Fixed it by putting insulator tape around the edges and a few blobs of blutack stuck to the inside of the side panel.

Worked a treat and was free. :)

Hmmm....the blutak sounds like an interesting option thanks. I may try that. I don't really want to have to put insulator tape around the edges though.

I doubt it is the PSU as my corsair hx520 makes barely any noise and i dont think it adds any vibration. Could be the side panels so try some bluetack in the corners. But could also be your hdd drive or dvd drive spinning up. So id investigate it a little more. ;)

its just a rattly case.....i had one had to keep taking the side panel off, seems to slowly build up until it drive you insane.

It's a good case, I do like it - big and plenty of room. You can probably get similar for less price but I've not been disappointed with it. It's this side panel rattling noise that I need to get rid of.

Hi shaf.

I put the tape inside the case where the side panel touches, so no tape is visible.

Could try mounting hdd in 5.25 bay (bungee mod), is surprising how well this works.

Hey Shaf

My 832 did the same thing, i stuck two small pieces of padded double sided tape at the top of the panel (only pulled of one sticky side ;)) this cushioned it enough to stop the rattle. Not that i was happy about doing it on a £170.00 case!

Or you can just bend out the connecting pieces on the panel for a tighter fit.

Cheers Wedge.

It sounds like using tape is a popular and easiest option. I will give it a try and see how it goes.

I have the CM 830 and the Corsair HX620 and I doubt very much that it is the PSU causing the rattle.

My rattle was caused by me not getting the side panel on perfectly. Once I mastered the knack of getting the side panels on and off (lubed with blood off my fingers) then my rattle went away.

It certainly isn't the best case in the world for the side panels.
