Ive just taken my gelid tranquillo rev 2 off my 3570k with the plan to mount it on my new 4770k once im at that stage. However it appears that the gelid had 4 black insulating spacers that mount on top of the motherboard. Horrible little things but it appears one is missing ive searched with no luck but cant remember if i possibly lost it before the first installation!

If i am at 3 out of 4 is this potentially going to cause a big problem?

Luckily a mate came up and he happened to have a few spare ones, not entirely sure what they're made of plastic/card possibly but as long as there not metal I assume there good to use?

Well just installed and decided to run Prime, although its not an every day test i've used it on every other computer I had and not been worried about it catching fire but yesterday the retail HSF hit 100c within 3-4 minutes. After installing the Tranquillo in same conditions (open case etc) Prime has been running for 10 minutes with a high of 68c! I'm surprised such an old budget cooler would make 30c of difference but never used a retail HSF before....they are that bad.

Cheers for the confirmation I only ever upgrade every few years so installing a CPU cooler is a big deal for me each time, especially this time as I already had it all in the case :(
