Cooler suggestions

well i just built my system so far so good everything is running great now i wanted to buy a cpu cooler with it but didn't have the funds to buy 1 at the time now i have the cash am thinking what would be the best cooler iv done my research and seen the d14 and h50-1 and Thermalright Venomous X and Prolimatech Mega Shadow are all great cpu coolers but just wanted advice from customers who have bought them also on another note i noticed that the Power cable were not long enough to go though the back of the antec 1200 and come thought the back so i will also be getting

Akasa 8-Pin 30cm PSU Extension Cable

just wanted to make sure they would work ok

also would it be a good idea to get a Fan to fit onto the case pannel?

Are you planning on overclocking at all? Most people buy the best, most expensive coolers (like the ones you've mentioned) for either more air-cooling headroom to push the ol' megahertz a bit further or bragging rights...

If you're just looking for a quality cooler that's quieter and more efficient than the Intel stock there are many cheaper alternatives.

yes looking at overclocking to about 4ghz
 
I'd suggest a Prolimatech Megahalems with a dual fan set-up, I've seen reviews of the Mega Shadow it doesn't seem to be quite as good.

I'd wait for a few more replies before you go buying stuff though. :)
 
Prolimatech Megahalems with a dual fan set-up+1.... i keep my i7 @ 3.6 prime 95 58deg this is my 24/7 overclock ..the Prolimatech Megahalem is absolutely top notch ive also overclocked to 4ghz 63 deg prime 95 i use dual fans Amber Ultra Quiet 120mm Fan..

Indeed Megahalems with x2 120mm fans is what I'd go for.
