If i have posted this in the wrong place can a mod put it in the correct place please.

I purchased a Thermalright 120 Ultra for my socket 939 mother board which is this make Asus A8N5X

I bought the cooler to go with the AMD 4200+ which is a TWO and is a bit 2 much for me old cooler

I took the mounting bracket off around the cpu as was told to do in the instalation guide onlt to find i only got 2 holes instead of 4 which is needed for the mounting plate

Due to my lack of motherboard know how i thought that this would fit as i got a 939 motherboard

Do you think i could get a refund for this as i only got it today or is it my own fault due to limited know how with a PC

I have had to order one of these Artic Coolers today to help cool me little beasty :p . My fan had my AMD 3700+ single core at 2.8 stable and didnt go over 41 under load and 31 idle. You guys wasn,t joking when you said these duel cores are hot

Thank you for any info, help or advice

Thanks again biffa, gonna celebrate by putting on my wellies and chase a sheep around the field :p

How you keeping beeralbion

The only bits that came with the Ultra 120 was for the 4 hole attachments. Thanks to Biffa  showing me the other attachment for it i have got the item on the way. It seems like if you got a gigabyte or dfi board your gonna have to purchase the steel back plate as well ;)

I can't link you to the place due to forum rules but can email you the extra info :o

I have an old ASUS A8V-Deluxe which already has a metal backplate. So I definately need to buy this 2 hole adaptor thing??

The only reason for buying this cooler is it had the option of 2 hole bolting.

I have lost the original black heatsink bracket that came with the mobo so cant put just anything on it now :(

Any other coolers that come with the fittings???

Did you read the install page that I posted?

If you have a plastic backplate then you need to buy one but if you:

If you have the metal backplate (ASUS or MSI), please proceed to next step.

Meaning you will be fine.

Yeah I read that page and I saw that a metal backplate was good, but I wasn't sure if the actual cooler came with the 2 hole adaptor as I have googled it and you can buy the kit seperately.

If I bought the cooler now, would it have all the bits I need?

I need to find a 'box contents list' :)
