hiya guys and gals.

I am thinking of getting a coolermaster 832 case.
Was just wondering if a thermalright 120 Extreme cooler will fit in the case ok?

My other case options are :
Lian Li PC-A10B
OR Antec P182

Also, are any of these cases recommended for keeping nice and quiet?
I want to keep the PC as silent as possible. So if any of them are really loud, I think i'll avoid them!

Any advice is greatfully recieved!
Cheers

The P182 is quieter than the Stackers (810 here) however for space and air cooling ability I prefer the older Stackers. I wouldn't say the Stackers are loud with stock fans, however they are louder.

Scythe Ninja fits in both cases. Not sure about new Stackers.

I am also wanting to whack a few lights in the case to make it look pretty, and light up my desk.
Now, the Lian Li and Antec cases have no windows, so whacking lights in them may not show up very well.

So the Coolermaster case is winning on the prettyness side of things.

BUT, if its mega loud with those grills on the side, I think i'd rather go for one of the others. I can't stand noisy cases!

The 120 Extreme should fit in but you will need to lose the side fan casing to do so.

TBH, I have a DFI Expert, Thermalright SI-120, and a 7900GTX all fans are Silenx 14db fans and it is quiet. It is not silent, but it is suprisingly quiet.

So you would recommend the Coolermaster?

If I cut the side fan casing, could I keep 2/3 of the fans in place, to cool the graphics card and mobo?
Seems a waste to take the extra fans out.

The 832 with side fan bracket install can take a heatsink with a max hight of 116mm

I know this due to the use of an SI-128 and 25mm(thick)fan in mine. The side fan above the heatsink has about a 2mm clearance.

The 120 Extreme is 160mm tall.

So you would have to either remove the fan bracket or just butcher your expensive case and cut the bracket.

Thing is though if you removed the bracket your system temp would rise significantly negating any benifit from the use of the heatsink.

That is interesting.

So with the Thermaltake heatsink, this case is not for me.
Perhaps if I went for the Tuniq cooler? Does that fit?
(I hear it is a top performer, nearly as goot as the 120 Extreme).

If I wanna keep the 120 Extreme heatsink, will the Antec P182 be an option for a case?
The only other one i've seen is the Lian Li A10...
