Coolermaster 840 Classic

I've started this thread as the 840 is being dissused in the HAF thread. Mine arrived today with a couple of DVD RWs a Seasonic 850 PS and a WD 1gig HD. I'll be buying the rest of the internals next month, I'm hoping the Sapphire Vapour x cards are available by then.

Anyhow, first impressions: This thing is big! Its replacing a Coolermaster Stacker which looks small at the side of it. Stacker 6.75" wide, 840 9'75". The black finish looks fantasic but it is a dust magnet and is easily marked with fingerprints and such. Silver would be more practicle but I would'nt swop my black one.

Not impressed with the tooless DVD fitting, the DVDs are not held firmly enough and move a little when pressed, however there are screw holes on one side of the fitting tray and a screw on each and they are now held securely.

Would anyone like to see a picture of it alongside the stacker?

Getting mine 2morow. A quick question, any issues with getting the mobo 8/4pin hidden with the psu at the bottom

All the cables are plenty long enough to reach the MB by routing them behind the MB removable tray with the PSU in the bottom position.

Here's a comparison photo, I have a Fansis FC-525 fan controller to on order, it will sit between the two DVDs.

Those wheels make Stacker look higher than it is. (+ that plastic frame on top)

Yeah, haven't seen tool-less system which would be really secure without lot more work...
Also it will be pain in the neck for that short fan controller!
