Coolermaster Black Stacker 830

Well anything upto that price really...I was going to buy the bits I need a for a new rig a bit at a time, starting with the case...

Would an Antec 900 be better?

Not really better, i'd say. It's smaller and build quality isn't as good, but it's a lot cheaper. I'm looking to get the Stacker 830, too; only i'll probably get the Evolution version since it can accomodate larger PSUs.

On the 830? It says it's for the Raptor X. The Raptor X is a model HDD with a partially transparent case do you can watch the head move. They're rather expensive and are hidden away in most cases. In order to make them more worth it I imagine the CM in question is able to mount hard drives so that they are visible from outside the case.

Sad.

Anywhoo the original stacker (dual PSU) or 810 is better case than the 830.

Why's it sad?

EDIT: Here's what that HDD rack looks like

Ok, the Windows a bit sad, but is it still not the fastest SATA drive on the market?

Yes, the raptors are the fastest, unless you go 7200.10 RAID 0, or raptor RAID O.
The non window raptor is cheaper, also because the one with window isn't metal you have less surface area for cooling (less metal)

Ok, is it worth then plumbing for the EVO, considering the amount extra it costs....just for the bigger PSU bay, and the Raptor x mounts?

It's not worth it for EITHER of the Coolermasters you've mentioned. As I said above the best case for you would probably be the Akasa Eclipse 62.

That's a great case unless you need room for an ungodly quantity of hard disks. In that case I'd recommend a V2000.

The 810 is flipping huge already, I can't see why should have a problem. I posted a pic of my 810 today.

The Eclipse's cooling far surpasses that of the 830. Piles of fans maketh not for good cooling if it's poorly engineered and executed.

You don't have to load the Stacker 830 with loads of fans, though. I would've thought that, with 2 fans in the front, it would provide better cooling than the Eclipse 62.

I would think so too (I have dual front 12cm fans) so you get a even waft of air across the full height of the motherboard.

Temps are pretty low in my case, 35 degrees idle for 1900XT, so something is working all right.
