Hey Guys

Just wondering if any CM690 owners have managed to get many cables tidied up by putting them through the holes and running them up the back of the mobo tray area? There looks to be some room, but not a lot, so I dont really wanna go forcing unless I know it fits.

Ive got a Hiper PSU so the mobo power cable is braided into quite a chunky round cable.

Anyone got any pics of the inside of theirs all tidied up too.

cheers

This is the insides of my new(ish) 690.

As you can see i have fed all of the PSU cables through the bottom hole and SATA cables round the side of the mobo tray.

Soon to have a new WC setup (i hope) so am quite happy with the amount of space in there.

Round the back of the case i have tried to spread out the cables as much as i can, so as not to bow out the side panel. Can post pics when i get home from work showing the other side.

Cheers, a pic of the other side would be great. I know I can fit all my Sata a PSU cables behind the tray, but they arent whats bothering me, Id just really like to get rid of the fat mobo power cable (oh, and the load of 400 mile long cables comming from the top I/O panel!)

How did you manage to get the 4pin ATX connector to the motherboard when going through the back panel? I have the same case and PSU and there's no way the cable was long enough. After about an hour of trying to cable neatly, I gave up and just wired the case without trying to hide everything.

Do you not have your Tuniq tower in the wrong way?
Surely that's blowing hot air towards your CD-ROM, rather than to the back fan and out the case?

Well, I opened up my case today to have a go, and found that there is actually about a 15mm gap betweeen the back of the mobo tray and the back panel, but there is a lip that runs the entire height of the right hand side of the tray reducing the gap to 2mm at most... atacked it with some snips and a hacksaw, but gave up and just tidied the cables as best I could....

A lot tidier than it was, but still not perfect...

Ah well i didnt feed it through, as it wasnt long enough, so if u look just above the PSU, i have fed it underneath my soundcard and GFX card, so it goes round the edge of the board:

4(8) pin mobo connector route:

Back of case:

Have just added an extra hard drive in there so have the bay filled up and did a bit more cable management so there was no pressure on any of the connectors with the side panel.

how on earth do you get the back panel on with the Mobo power cable there like that?!?! that lip means theres about a 2mm gab between it and the panel

I have this case, anyone know where i can find an 80x80x15 fan to fit the back, didnt check this before i ordered a standard 80mm the back wont close

It seems to fit fine when i put on the side panel, doesnt seem to bow that much if at all.

just got my cm690 and will give tidying a go soon! am looking to change the fans i think the ones that come with it are a bit noisy, have managed to find a slim 8cm fan on that well know auction site ;)

have the zalman mfc2 to go in soon as i decide which fans am going with

Agreed, the stock fans are noisy, and if you have one on the side panel it buzzes as it draws air through the mesh in the panel. Ive spaced mine away from the case about 2 or 3 mm with some tiny bits of plastic, made it quieter. 2 of the LEDs have gone in the blue one too..

Cant be bothered to sort it though, not to concerned with noise and ive moved the blue one to the side which is hidden under a desk anyway

Made no diff in temps when i tried one. Still at least it pushed some air around behind mobo, however you then end up with clumps of unseen dust - so bit of a no win situation, imo. :)

swapped the front and back fans for some nexus 120mm DS12SL's not bad at all :) added a couple of 120mm's from a lianli case 1 on the side and just to see how it goes one on the top

have got a slim 8cm but could not work out how to attach it

I think the cable management in this case is pretty good.

It took me a few hours to get it how i wanted it, but i think it's looking pretty good now. The hardest was the 24pin connector, but once you spread it out, it doesn't actually bow the side panel at all.

All the cables from the PSU on mine managed to reach all the right places on my motherboard without any extensions. Guess I was just lucky with that. If you remove the top of the case, you can stuff all the excess USB cable ect up there somewhere. I removed the E-sata cable as I just don't use it.

I have stuck a fan on every possible place (except the rear of the motherboad) and use zalman 6 channel fan controller to control them. Even with them all on max, it's not really that loud. Very pleased with the build.
