Coolermaster Elite 430 - Too small?

Hi All,

I'm currently build a system and I've decided to go with the Coolermaster Elite 430 for the case. I don't want anything expensive and fancy since it will go under the desk. Problem is that everywhere I've read it seems it's a bit small for cable management. Anyone that is using the case can confirm this? My build is:

MSI GeForce GTX 560Ti
Intel Core i5-2500K 3.30GHz
Asus P8P67 Intel P67
OCZ StealthXStream 2 700W
Corsair XMS3 4GB DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz

Regards.

i use this case...i wouldnt describe it as small but i know it does have issues with cable management.

I certainly wouldnt recommend it if you are quite fickle in routing cables, just about the only place to put cables is beside the 3.5mm cage and that area soon fills up.

I am pleased with the case on all other aspects though...it offers a fair few cooling options and is quite well made.

Spend an extra £20 and you'll get something that will last ages and won't need upgrading for a long time due to bigger/better hardware.

Take a look at the Coolermaster CM 690-II, and if you have no taste, the HAF 912.

(OT: First post! yay me)
I'm using it in my first ATX build as I got it when it was on offer with an 500W psu, and I wouldn't say it was too small, but like others have said there is no space for cable management.

Otherwise I like all the space for fans and dust filters, and it doesn't feel too flimsy. And it also doesn't look completely offensive!

As I scrimped on the case, you might want to go for something a few pounds more, but it all depends on whether you care that much!

I have this case and it fits my rig ( in sig ) perfectly fine. Slight niggle that the cut out in the mobo tray dosent quite match up to the rear of the CPU socket so i had to remove the mobo to fit the H50 backplate. I have a modular PSU so cable management isnt too bad.

With a bit of creativity you can hide all the cables no problems. For a cheap case it is superb and has really good cooling.

Now that is very nicely done for a cheap case with no cable management. I got rid of my first case, a panzerbox, because the cable routing was ****ing me off but I guess I was just being lazy :p.

MOOGLEYS. that pic is almost identical to my own build:)

Cable management isn't too bad. Although i am currently getting a new case, as i wouldn't want to crossfire in the case. You just can't put the cables behind the mobo, so they have to go behind the hdd cages.
Also, you will probably want at least one extra fan.:)

Can't see crossfire being an issue tbh all the cables are hidden out the way so plenty of space and airflow is superb. I used 3 of the Antec tri-cool fans for the top and bottom and run them at the slowest setting which still shifts a nice amount of air and they are nice and quite. The front fan is a 140mm which has a 75% reduction cable and the rear is the coolermaster from the front which is silent even at max speed. My 720BE unlocked to X4 and running at 3.8ghz idles at 17.c and under full load it has never gone above 40.c in my Antec 300 it was almost 10.c hotter.....

my gpu pci-e cables are already bunched up against my hdd's(3 of them, so can't really move them) another one would really fit tightly and would probably reduce airflow a fair bit.

One thing i have to say though, is that general airflow and temps in this case, i would describe as excellent for the price.

i've got 3 apaches in there and am very happy with the airflow.

Ah I see now it would be quite close to the drives especially if you have a few like me.. Can you not mount a couple of them in the 5 1/4 bays with adapters make a bit of room.. ?

could do that. sure.
But i won a poker tourney the other day, so i put some money aside for an upgrade and decided that the only thing i really want to upgrade is the case, and i really like the look of the NZXT phantoms.:D

Won't go to waste though, as i'm putting together a frankenstien pc, with loads of old bits i can find around for my sister, and tbh, the case will probably be the best part:)

OP- for the price there is a lot of space inside the case

Guess i'll go with that then.

Gigabyte P67A-UD3-B3

CM-690

That Should be my final build up then

You should do a Tutorial thread on Cable management with this case, ive tried my best but its no where near as good as yours, and you have more drives and fans than i do :L
