Got my Haf X and got it set up as normal, but I think I will be getting rid of the cover at the bottom that hides the cables from the PSU, reason being.... the front fan blows air into the case and straight at the cover, which I think would be stealing the air from the rest of the case and reducing cooling.

Also the bottom of the case is mesh'd so would be a shame not to place a nice big fan down there pushing more cold air up hrough the case, by removing the cable cover I would allow this fan to blow air more freely.

I do need to get me another 20cm coolermaster fan for the top of the case also to aid getting rid of all that hot air. But where to get it, as the front fan is RED led, and seen a 20cm fan thats blue, but if I couldnt get one thats normal black I would want another red led fan.

So basically by keeping all the fans big/14cm+ it should keep the noise down  and give me a nice very cool pc.

Coolermaster have a spares shop online that you could get a 20cm red led fan from.

How did you find fitting the Be Quiet cooler and how well is it performing m8?

The cooler was a pain to fit, but not too bad, and the cooling is not too bad, 3.8 OC and top temp was 75 I think, need to do some more mods to bring the case temp down, I dont think the high GFX temps are helping, once my new motherboard is fitted things should come down, will see when I remove the cooler if I put too much paste on there, if so I can reduce the amount a touch to aid cooling also.

I have looked at the Coolermaster website, where is the spares shop? is it on there?
Its a shame that OCUK dont stock them

You say the bottom cable hider stops air from the front intake from reaching the case. But surely installing the second big fan at the top will just pull mostly air from the front mesh drive bays instead of the hot air inside the case.

I am guessing that the cover acts as a void where air will be trapped and cause problems, once I get a new fan from OCUK as one on the side was broke when i got it, I will have cold air flowing onto the GFX cards from the side, every little helps at the end of the day

Ok done the basic tidy up and motherboard install :)
Stupid photobox wont let me share individual pics?

Ok new board fitted last night, not had time to proper overclock it yet and test load temps etc, will try to do this tonight, I do how ever have some pics on my mobile of the internals all fitted, looking good me thinks.

If only i could easily post the pics here from my mobile, got an android, anyone know where I could upload to, to enable me to share?

Hi

I've always used Photobucket. Not sure if you can upload direct from your phone (never tried it) or if it's a matter of uploading to your PC first and then onto something like Photobucket.

Be VERY interested to see your pictures.

Thanks for that. Appreciated.

I'll be interested to see how you get on when you've had a bit more time to play around and stress it / check temps etc.

Considering how relatively cheap these cards are now (certainly compared to when I bought one on launch day!!!), it would be the cheapest option to give my new system a graphical boost. I had rather gone off the idea and was thinking about a 580 GTX, but the prices on these are still pretty high. TBC as they say.

Thanks again.

temps on gfx card are better now due to better layout of the motherboard, and my placements of fans

GFX dont seam to go over 57c
cpu at 3.6G not going over 62 at the moment

all good
