Hi

I dont know the proper name for these but I was just trying to do something in my case and I knocked my Coolermaster Hyper TX3 CPU Cooler and I cant fasten it properly, I have broken one of these twisty tightener things:

I just need the black+white bit, not the metal part

Its brand new so I dont really want to spend another £20 to replace it, Im really hoping someone knows how I can get a replacement one of those ^^ above from? Any shops online? Or maybe one of you have some spare that I can buy? I just need the one screw/pin thingy

Regards

Holy damn that pictures huge, sorry :S Ill remove the

The push pins look very much like the ones on Intel stock coolers:

If you have an Intel stock cooler perhaps you can remove one from that and fit it to the metal arm of your cooler.

Alternatively OcUK sell an Intel stock cooler for 98p which you might be able to cannibalise.

Intel Official i7 CPU Cooler (Socket 1366)

You get free postage so it might be worth a punt for 98p unless you get any better ideas or offers.

Thank u mate, so the push pins with that cooler there will definately be the right/same ones yeah?

I can't guarantee that they are.

All I can say is that from the pictures they look like they're the same.

Perhaps if someone has a Coolermaster Hyper TX3 and a stock Intel cooler they can compare them for you.

If they are not the same you can buy a set of four for the TX3 for 2.94 euro's plus delivery from the Coolermaster Netherlands parts shop.

Missed delivery, should get it tomorrow and will let you know if its the same one or not incase anyone else asks in the future / or for your own needs :)

The way my CPU Cooler works is you push the white bit of the plastic on its own through each slot on the Cooler, and then you get the black bit of plastic and push that through the white plastic.. Im not sure how to explain but Im sure you guys know exactly what I mean, well I really could not remove the white bit from the black bit.... I tried twisting and pulling in every position I could think of but nope, it just wouldnt come out...

Gave up in the end as whilst I was trying to do this my brand new PC was in parts and I begun to feel the stress so I just used what I was using (with 1 dodgy one) but to be fair it feels pretty secure so hopefully it will fine and wont fall out of place or nothing

As for the replacement screws, yes they are identical just so you know, but I just couldnt take them apart to correctly fit them (Couldnt seperate the white & black bits)

Oh well, only 98p. Not bothered, was worth a try!

Cheers all

Found these instructions on another site, hope it helps.

"Rotate the black plastic part clockwise with respect to the white plastic part before separating them. This will let you remove them with no damage to the push pins. You will be able to mount the push pins back, if some day you desire, just the way they were.

If you rotate counter clockwise, it will require to lift only one tab instead of two. However, the tiny alignment peg on the white part will not disengage from the black part. You will have to force it, which could cause damage."

naaah am gona leave it now, could be 3rd time unlucky rather than lucky opening up that case again. its still only a week old, dont wana be fiddling round. if i broke something else i would be really annoyed so its working fine, keeping very cooled at 27degrees atm so yeah gona leave it alone now

thanks for that though feddie, do appreciate it i just dont feel the need to bother going inside the case again. rather leave it alone :P im clumsy and end up breakign something else hehe
