I just recieved the above Cooler for my Intel Core i5 processor.

Couple of questions

1 : What the hell is with the grooves, if i lap it then surely i'm going to go through the pipes to make it 100% flat. surely the grroves are going to effect performance

2 : Has anyone overclocked using it ( Looks rather small to do so, but size isnt everything), if so what are your speeds. This system is going into an haf 932
 
I'm pretty sure that's intentional. If it's for performance or simply manufacturing costs i'm not sure. Although to be honest, unless you can achieve perfect flatness isn't it best to have a rough surface, giving the TIM more surface area to conduct heat to?
