A few months back I got into the Delta Force Hawk Ops demo and did OK but started to investigate my input setup to address long term niggles. One of those things led to seeing fingertip mice and some of the mods people have done.
So with a 3D printer not being used for ages I figured I'd make my own custom mouse shell. Picked up a Coolermaster MM730 for about £7 with delivery as an electronics host and over a number of weeks tinkered with some designs and finally have my own custom shell.

Total weight is 34g. 15g is the printed shell, so 19g for the main PCB, side buttons and mouse wheel/LED. Original MM730 is around 53g which is really quite good, I just didn't like the way the shell curved on it and was hitting my palm a bit.
I don't tend to use side buttons in gaming but wanted the mouse to be a daily one where I do use the side buttons.
Replaced the optical switches with some Razer v3 ones. There's almost no pre-travel so quite satisfying clicks.
I guess I have a lazy fingertip grip since my little finger drags on the mouse mat so I added a little side flair to rest my fingers on. I've always liked the thumb rest of my Logitech G502 so kept that idea as well.
This thing is almost frictionless although I need a good gaming session to work out some quirks, I think the side rest isn't grippy enough and my fingers just slide up it a bit too often. Might settle for some bluetak to fix that.

The G502 is a lump weighing in around 120g and likely one of the reasons micro adjustments from stationary were always awkward. Definitely feel the drag compared to the new mouse.
