I am about to buy a new PSU for my new system. Noise and cooling are both key factors for me.

Also it is important to prepare for the future so i need pci-e 2.0 and i will be running a large RAID in the future so i need as many SATA connectors a possible.

I was going for the Coolermaster Real Power 1000w Modular Power Supply but people keep suggesting the Enermax Galaxy 1000W EGX1000EWL ATX2.2 Modular PSU.

Any suggestions or opinions on this?

i have the enermax and it is a great PSU, has 6 PCIe conectors, 3 of them 8 pin, a lot of SATA power connectors, and very stable

Buy the Enermax. One of the best PSU brands. The 850W/1000W versions make a bit of noise, probably because they have an 80mm fan inside but the 720W/650W Infiniti's should be near silent with single 135mm fans.

I find it hard to believe anyone needs a 1000W PSU. The Enermax Galaxy says it will run 24 Drives in the spec, how big was your Raid array again?

I’d go for a smaller drive if noise is an issue.

My RAID is not that big!! I may want to accomodate 8-10 disks at the most tbh.

So the Coolermaster has:
4pin ATX 12V
5 x 4pin Molex
4 x 6pin PCI-E Power
1 x 8pin CPU +12V
2 x 8pin PCI-E Power
2 x FDD Power
8 x SATA Power

And the Enermax has:
1 x 4+4pin CPU +12V
2 x 4pin ATX 12V
9 x 4pin Molex
2 x 6pin PCI-E Power
1 x 8pin CPU +12V
1 x FDD Power
7 x SATA Power

Coolermaster looks like it has better number of connectors - can you buy additional connectors form either brand?

Enermax seems to have the better reputation though!
