Hi guys,

I have my Conroe setup in one of these cases and at the moment I'm only using a front 120mm fan and a rear 120mm fan.

I've not yet installed on at the top of the case nor in the door that swings open so that you can put 4 120mm fans in (or whatever)..

My questions was, how have you got yours (to those that have got one!!) setup or set out when it comes to the fans etc?

I've a fan controller for those Noisy fans but I'm just wondering what should I do for maximum cooling?? Would it be best to have a faster one at the rear to take out the heat from the case??

Any advice would be greatfull :)

my 830 stacker is fully loaded with fans, the specs are all fans are the quiet type mate =

the 830 stacker front blows in & rear one blows out are =

the top fan what is a Scythe S-FLEX 1600RPM Ultra Quiet 120mm too what blows out

also i have the Coolermaster Stacker 4in3 Device Module at the front what is another Scythe S-FLEX 1600RPM Ultra Quiet 120mm blowing in to the case & over the cpu fan what is a Zalman CNPS9500-AM2 Aero Flower !.

all the fans are on full, but they are built as quiet fans so they are quiet at full speed too they cost loads but they are well worth it .

all the fans are plugged on my asus crosshair mobo apart from the 4in3 fan what is psu run along with the rear fan too.

all are on full speed too but it is quiet too.
 
i got 2 in the front, 1 top, 1 back and 2 on the side. But the side ones are turned off usually. seems cool enough (fx60 o/c 3ghz).
 
Running Orthos I think it maxes out anywhere up to 55C under a full load, but I've only got a noisy fan at the rear, a quiet one at the top (which used to be at the rear which came with the case) and then the one at the front.
I have put 2 on the side of the case as well (out of the four) so I'm hoping thats helping.

I do have a fan controller, but I've got to find the cables to connect the fans up with!! :o

If I cant find them, do overclockers sell them?
 
Sorry to hijack your thread; Just out of interest - Is the Stacker a viable alternative to watercooling a 2 gfx card rig?

Ignoring the fans on the cards, noise is an issue. Have bought some externals for all my storage to (hopefully) improve airflow and reduce heat emission within the case.

Also - no idea what cooler I would get but I will be upgrading to a dual core processer.

I will say it depends on the type of Stacker case you buy, for example my 810 model has a place for two PSU's, the newer 830 only has a place for one.

I think the 810 is bigger and if I'm honest, better overall because of its size. I dont think the 830 is any better, but its certainly not a bad case by any means.

I'll tell you something you might not believe but my hard drives in my cases hardly ever touch 25C even when scanning for virus'es or even when defragging.. I think at the moment, they are about 21C and 22C.. That's taken from the Smart reading.. I just hope its accurite!! :lol:

Personally would keep hard drives in a case as a external drive for me as too little cooling and that worries me. I would feel much better knowing I have a 120mm fan in front of them cooling them down rather than nothing in a small case...

OcUK no longer seem to sell 810s, but I do fancy the idea of 2 PSUs just incase a 2xDx10 gfx card system is too much for one.

A review of the 810 I found said it only had 1 PSU slot :confused:

The 830 looks swish though, I must say, and the fact that its not quite as big as the 810 is in its favour.
 
Yeah 810 only has single PSU support. If you want that you'll need to get the original Stacker. Pic of the 810..

I must have the orignal stacker then, cos I got room for two :D :lol:

I like both cases, but I'm affraid to say, the first one (the 810) I feel is a better case overall. I wish the 830 had some wheels on it :(
 
They are a great case, both of them, its a shame I really perfer the first one really!! :lol:

Good luck with the water cooling setup mind :)
