Hi all, i bought a new system i7 920 3 weeks ago and i want to know does the temps look ok on idle and load on default speed :D THANKS

43-41-44-41 idle
72-71-72-69 load
useing LinX and realtemp

Wierd. Because even before I had a decent rear exhaust fan, my stock temps we in the 20's on idle (at stock speeds). I never prime95'd the stock settings though because my i7 was overclocked 2.5 seconds after I put the v8 on. My case is an Apevia X-cruiser thermally advantaged quiet case.

the pic is wrong. it is 1.22. Stable as he11.

Do you physically feel your hs heating up during loads? I can on mine but mostly from the rear half of the thing. Try to feel down on the pipes by the cpu during loads, they should get quite warm. if not then it's not seated properly. I used artic silver 5. Also try to feel where the air is flowing after it goes through the heat sink, it should be able to escape quickly. I use a square of toilet paper sometimes to get a visual of airflow, or suction. It works great on 80mm fans.

I know people say less is more on the thermal paste, however I used a fairly generous amount, in a combo of the smear with finger in bag, and small dot in center. No doubt I will get criticized for this method.

No liquid in the pipes. I have no clue why yours is so hot. what's you vcore?

I'm sorry you are having such a bad experience with the v8. I love mine, it looks awesome in my build. It's supposed to be good to take the i7 to 3.8 with no probs. I plan on going to 4.0 with mine tonight and I will post a screen shot just for you. I think there is something else a miss with your setup. I don't think mine would get that hot on stock speeds even if the fan was completely broken. And btw, my pipes get toasty when on load. I know you have reseated 4 times, but heat is obviously not getting transferred properly if yours are not heating up under high loads.
