Coolermaster V8

Anybody own one? It has to be the best looking CPU cooler I've ever seen, they match my CM HAF perfectly.

A bit of hunting about shows them to be one of the best air coolers available.

I found some stocks of them around for about £55.70 delivered with AS5 included.

Any thoughts?

Good review, looks really promising, they also do V10 and V12 models do you know if they are available yet ?

The only stock I can find is of the V8. Looking at the pictures of both V10 and V12 they're beasts.

Prices are pretty vague, £55 for the V8 isn't a bad price I feel. Seeing as you pay £35 for a TRUE then another £15 or so on a fan plus AS5 + delivery, it all adds up.

Just gonna route around on google untill I find something I spose. I'll report back if I do.

i had a look at these last week, seems only the V8 is available. was looking for the LGA1366 version.

I disagree with the conclusion of that review. From their own data it only beats the TRUE Extreme by 1 degree under load on an overclocked Q9450. This this is the only result that really matters, and for £55 I'd expect much more better.

But the TRUE costs that much when you need to buy a good fan and AS5. This looks a lot better and tbh, I'm being stupid and buying it just because of its looks. Its got the same style as my case and although I'll never see it.. I'll feel better knowing its in there.

Having looked around, it's actually available for ~£40, and considering it includes a fan that's quite an attractive price.

I look forward to seeing some more reviews, especially detailed noise recordings for the included fan.

Looks impressive, but looking at the test results and how it compares to the TRUE, i wonder what particular fan was used on the TRUE as it isnt supplied with one, and therefore upto the user to decide what they use, and this being a subjective thing as no two fans will have the same results. still i think this looks like a good value for money cooler

It does come with a fan.

I received mine on Monday though I haven't installed it yet because i'm going to lap my CPU tomorrow. I'll get back to you on the noise levels once it's installed. It does come with a fan controller though, so the speed and therefore noise can be altered. I believe it's rated around 20db at maximum rpm.

I really fancy getting one of these but i doubt it will fit next to my reaper hpc ram.
