Coolest CPU on OCUK?

underclocked opteron.

mine manages 2.7ghz at 1.275v :D

at 2.0ghz im sure it would be fully stable at 1.1ish volts, ideal for passive cooling.
 
can be either, depends on which platform your after how much you willing to spend, what application are you looking for, how do you require to cool it, what sort of space you have for cooling, etc

the list goes on.

the coolest cpu on s939 would be underclocked opteron or fx cpu.

coolest on socket A is mobile cpu.

coolest on s754 is again the mobile turion cpu although you haveto be care which board you get for it.

coolest on s775 would be the core duo, again take mobo into account.

An underclocked Core 2 Duo should be able to beat that by a significant amount. An underclocked Merom should be able to obliterate that. ;)

Both owe their thermal output to their 65 nm processes and low-power design.
 
I'm looking at building a HTPC and want it SILENT

Looking at hardware HD decoding so the cpu shouldn't be doing much of anything. I have a Ninja HSF somewhere which I was going to use (if I can find it) but need a big case for that :confused:

he isnt asking about underclocking tho is he ? hes asking what is the coolest stock cpu?
