after buying the very hot amd 7950 i have had to do all sorts to keep it cool, the next step has/is voiding the warranty of the card, i want to add an after market cooler. my plan was to add another card but without having to deal with the heat of it, which card should give good temps without having to change to aftermarket heatsinks.

thanks

that asus takes 3 slots :o , that iceQ has a blower so guessing I wont have the hot air floating around inside the case?

Well said matt,

Though if i was the OP id say the Ice-Q is the best choice as its £80 less than the other two. :)

I'd agree with that. The other Ice-Q is only that expensive because its the last one. It was priced around £240 before all the stock vanished.

Correct.

Actually the coolest running 7950 is probably this one. However the Ice-Q will no doubt be a close second or third. I would also expect this card to run cool as well.

This HIS IceQ x2 is cool when it is not in crossfire, in crossfire the top card runs really hot.
Actually I think this is one of the worst coolers for crossfire.
I tested 2 7970s ghz edition with this cooler and the top card was 12C more than the bottom one.
I also tested reference cards (7950/70), msi tfiii cards, sapphire dual fan cards and the top one was never more than 7C on the worst case.

Yes no doubt. I was only talking about single card though. With that card you will need a good side exhaust fan or two if you were running crossfire.

Id be looking for reasons as to why the 7950 was running too hot in the first place. My 7970 runs fine in a case thats poor for air cooling

2 x 140mm intake , 2 x 140mm top exhaust, apaches.

1 x 140 & 1 x 120 mm side intake I did try as exhausts but temps go 5c higher,

both cards will play crisis 3 every now and then and maybe some others games im going to buy, along with FOLDING@HOME the other 99% of the time :D:cool:

have you seen the GPU heatsink on my card? its perfetic lol
