whats the coolest running core2duo cpu on the market which is a descent speed and can be passively cooled?

overclocking is a no no.

some of the C2Ds undervolt quite nicely.... my E6400 goes down to 0.950V, at which point im pretty sure you can passive it.

Not sure. But why do you want to put through less volts or get the coolest? they all run fine on stock with the heatsink given.

Silent system me thinks.

E21*0 series should easy do it with a Scythe Ninja or Thermalright, infact I imagine most C2D's when using about 1V at stock.

Get something like a Thermalright 120 Extreme and put a really slow-moving 120mm fan on it. The Scythe fans are supposed to be quiet.. run it at 600rpm or something and it will be inaudible. With these things even a tiny amount of airflow makes a massive difference.

True, or a Noctua case fan with the ULNA resistor on it will work great. :)
