I have a powercolor X1800XT and i have just taken the stock HSF. I have the Zalman FS-V7 Fatal1ty Copper VGA Cooler. Ok question is do i put artic silver on the GPU? and do i put it on the ram as well or just stick the ram sinks on as they are?
 
Stick the ramsinks on as is .. especially if yours is the older conductive AS, besides those pads will be a huge improvement over the massivley thick ones on the stock HSF.
You can use AS on the core carefully, but I used the stuff Zalman supplied and it did the job a treat :)
