Just fitted a new GTX275 to my system and the temps have gone up by around 10/15 degrees and Im a little worried about the cpu and Mobo temps

E6600 at 3gb
AsRock penryn1600sli-110db
coolermaster 700 psu
AXP case with extra fans

In game after about a 1 hour the CPU temp is upto 68 degrees and the Mobo is touching around 58 degrees any help would be great

Thanks Dave

I would look at tidying the cables to increase airflow through the case, if you haven't done so already. If it's dusty i would also give the case a good clean as excessive dust can cause heat issues. I would also check to see how hot your NB is getting and if it feels very hot you could consider getting a thrid party heat sink - cheap to do.

Obviously, if you only have the stock cooler on the cpu a better third party will sort your cpu temps straight away and make a marked difference - plus most are designed to exhaust the heat out of the back of the case which will help with your system temps. And if your willing to risk the warranty on your gfx you could get a thrid party cooler for that too - but i would wait and do the above first.

Edit: This is a great value cooler and exhausts to the rear case fan.

For now i would, definitely get a decent cpu cooler, clear your wiring, get rid of any dust and check your NB temps. But the decent cpu cooler may well get rid of most of your problems.

sorry should have said I have a Zalman ZM-NBF47 Northbridge Heatsink fitted to the northbridge and a Arctic Cooling AC-FRZ-7P Freezer 7 Pro on the cpu the case is a XION Solaris Black (Blue LED) Mid Tower Case - No PSU which is were im thinking my problem is, the case is dust free just beed done and have checked everything to get the best flow through the case > I know the 650i northbridge chipset can run quite hot how do i check the temps?

Thanks Dave

2x xfx8000gt in sli with after market vortex neo coolers and overclocked with rivatuner , the 275 is still running stock, had the same problem with the 1gb 4870 which I RMA'd asit was faulty

I would start looking at the fiiting of the Freezer 7 Pro - it may be that it's not making full contact with the cpu. It's easy to miss especially with the pin fixing system - it may be worth a refit - a pain i know.

After your second post it's clear you know your way around your system so you'll know that your cpu is well with in tolerance it's only your system temps that are concerning.

If your Zalman ZM-NBF47 is fitted correctly that should be dealing with your NB temps - again i would check to see that this is seated correcly.

More efficient case fans maybe - but that's reaching?

Just googled your case and imo get a better air flowing case, my Antec 900 shaves 10c off my 260GTX loads temps.

If your case is getting hotter it meens theres not enough airflow though the case to get rid of the heat so either get some more/better fans or get a better air flowing case.

I have an old coolermaster case and found pretty much dedicating an intake fan to my graphics card (dual slot) works great ...... just my 2p worth :)
