Well I got bored and decided to see if I can make my machine run a bit cooler until I get my new one later this year... It's currently running a Phenom II X4 955BE @ 4Ghz and a 560ti @ 930mhz core 2104mhz memory... Just wanted some input on anything that might help ;)

you system as only 1 stock intake fan and 4 output fans.

if i was you as your useing a water type cooler i would turn rounf the top right fan so it working as an intake fan

also put the back fan on the rad outside the case to move the cooler over as the top left fan will just be making noise and not cooling anything

the fan you have marked as a 140 input at the bottom on the case is not an intake. the psu fan dose not work as an intake

You ideally want more intakes than exhausts to create positive pressure and to prevent dust from trying to get through any holes. Turn the top fans so they act as intakes.

I tried putting the first fan on the outside of the case but the radiator doesn't fit into the space and allow the holes to line up....

The fan I drew in is actually on the side of the case not the PSU fan the PSU fan pulls in from under the case and straight out the back ;)

The front is a 200mm and side is 140mm I had thought about using a top fan for intake but was concerned over the amount of dust it would probably pull in?

Don't you mean the PSU pulls in cool from the back & attempts to expel out the bottom whilst heating itself up, reducing case airflow & raising the ambient case temp as a result?

Personally I think it makes more sense to install your PSU the other way round.

Nope it's definitely pulling air in through the bottom of the case through the nice filtered intake and out the back of the PSU

Hmmm it seems as if Corsair TX PSU fans should indeed suck air in & blow it out the back mines is doing the same & I could have sworn it felt like it was blowing out of the fan when I had a feel.

Oh well you learn something new everyday.

if you have a 140 intake on the side panel you should not have any problem with cooling if your having problems try fitting better fans on the rad. the stock fans are not the best. fit a good fan and you will see a bettet temp as menny ppl have done

Well I managed to move one of the radiator fans to outside the case... Been wondering though do I turn the one of the top fans into an intake or change the radiator ones to intake, water temperature normally sits around 40c think the top fans will pull that out fast enough? Must admit I'm slightly tempted to look at the mods where people fit clear tubing to these coolers then I can mount the rad outside the case....

the roof fans are sucking too much cold air out, you want that valuable cold air going over the MOBO and out through the Rad ONLY, you've got it coming in and going strait out the roof..... those roof fans ( noctura ?) look more powerful than the rad ones..so this is even worst, you have got a dead zone where the Rad is, especially from the exhaust fan over the top of it

in addition, your front intake is blocked by all those drive bays.... no no no

you need to block off the top fans or better still remove them....block off the hole.... move that stuff away from the intake.....beef up the fans on the rad, use the spare noctura roof fans.

the side window ``in `` 140mm might be ok, just slow it down slightly, you now have only one exhaust.... exactly, this is the only place the cold air can go, strait through your rad where you want it..... not split 70:30 through the roof

Just turn the fans on the 920 so they intake air. It means you have cool air coming from outside and the hot air can be exhausted from the top.

i'm not sure about that, you run the risk of overheating the GRAPHICS CARD, i would never have an intake at the rear top, as well as at the front bottom, you're creating a messy vortex in the middle

i would have it, in the front and strait out the rear at high speed, with no restrictions/ nothing blocking its way, just like opening your front and back door on a cold day.

Except the airflow from the front is massively impeded anyway. Internal temps won't increase too much if the top fans act as exhausts. Had the air been trapped then it would be a different story.

This,
generally with those closed loop water coolers, you get better temps with them sucking air from the rear case fan and exhausting into the case.
Then the 2 top fans will exhaust the hot air out.

With air coolers, its different, you want the front fans as intakes and top/rear fans as exhausts.

If you are worried about the gpu temp, do a stress test first, record the temps, do a cpu stress test,
then turn the 920 fans around as Helios and i have mentioned and also have the 2 top fans as exhausts.
Then do another test and record the new temps.
What is the difference on the cpu and gpu temps?

you can always stick a 120mm fan just above the psu, under the gpu for extra gpu cooling

yes the problem is the front intake is seriously blocked..... my old rig is just like his, it's blocked by two drives, their support frame, plus a heavy fan guard

when i got the Lian below in my sig, the first thing i did was to junk all that stuff and put the HARD DRIVE near the roof, this left me two flat shelves to put the fans onto, this is a very old photo but gives you an idea, i'll upload more photos soon on my own thread.

this pc is freezing cold inside, even in the summer, i've been building this rig for over 3 years ... ha ha

Well I realised the cpu cooler wasn't happy with the hoses being at the top like that so had yet another re-shuffle.... Got to do something to my machine until I can get my new one later this year :D

I managed to get the 2nd rad fan under the top cover part of my case so still running push / pull before anyone says anything....
