Recently my fan died, so decided to get a new one. Long story short, i ordered this fan; Arctic Cooling Alpine 64 CPU Cooler
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HS-020-AR&groupid=701&catid=57&subcat=1395

And it doesn't fit my board at all. I have a GA-K8N Ultra-9 (http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Support/Motherboard/Driver_Model.aspx?ProductID=1868) which i know is old, but still runs well. When trying to fit the fan, the fastening clips are around 5mm short either side :( On top of that it comes as a 4pin connector, not 3, and won't fit on my board as it is too close to a cyclinder shaped bit (don't know what they are).

Surely being the same socket type it should have fit.. Any help appreciated.

you can still plug the fan in the 3pin but the mobo then cant control its speed automatically but erm have you tried lacthing one side on first then the other using force?
