just saw this on thermalright's website:

hr_03_news.jpg

its compatibel with x1800/x1900 series cards, wonder if you guys think its gonna be a better performer than the vf900cu.

Opted for the cheap arctic cooler myself, temps were about 10-15 degrees less than the stock heatsink and it's near enough silent, even at 100% fan speed. Looking at the pictures that looks amazing, although I can't figure out how it will sit? looks like it will fit the core fine but what about the RAM?

Any chance of a review if you get it?

if i get one then yes sure i will do proper testing on it and mave the reviews available up on here.

thing is im not gonna shell out for this until i hear things about it, its still very new. although stuff from thermalright is very very rarley crap.

i still have my zalman vf900cu lying around. still on stock cooling though, want to see if this cooler is better than the zalman. if so then looks like i will have to pull out my pennies.

Been looking round and can't see any installation instructions, guess they come on a piece of paper with the cooler. Still can't figure out how it cools the RAM?

it doesn;t cool the ram. and the ram doesn;t need cooling.

the stock cooler only makes the ram perform worse by dumping the heat from the gpu into the ram modules.

if you run the ram bare on the x1900xtx like some people have tried when using the vf900cu cooler, the ram hardly gets warm under long gaming sessions, and thats even when overclocked.

just add ramsinks for looks really.

can't find any reviews on it. guess its too new.
would love to know how it cools. has anyone come across any info on this cooler?

Summary: Another fantastic product from Thermalright, utilizing the High Riser series, proprietary through holes and the comfort of silence, the new HR-03 VGA cooler is as functional as it is beautiful.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

HR-03 works with 4 heat pipes in the forms of 2 U-pipes and 2 N-pipes (another innovative concept from Thermalright) for a well and evenly spread out distribution of heat, and just as are our other High Riser heatsinks, the HR-03 can work effectively, with or without a fan. It all depends on your preference level for noise and performance.

For those hardcore overclockers who don’t mind a little noise (more or less) and just want pure performance, you can strap on any 9cm fan of your choice and just go nuts! Crank it up! Turn up the juice! The HR-03 will cool the newest and hottest

GPU from ATI and Nvidia. In our own test lab, we ran the HR-03 passively without a fan on a Nvidia 7950GT against the stock cooler and it performed shoulder to shoulder with stock cooling.

So what happened when we put on a 9cm fan? The results were mind boggling…improvement was as much as a staggering 20 Celsius degrees! But for those who just want some peace and quiet running the HR-03 without a fan, you will need a well ventilated system and need to place the HR-03 close to the CPU fan or the rear exhaust fan.

One of the many advantages of the HR-03 is its installation procedure, because now it is easier than ever with fewer parts causing less of a headache, while installing in much less time than the average GPU cooler.

The HR-03 can be installed in two ways in accommodation to your video card configuration and system setup, thus expanding the range of video card compatibility. Another advantage lies in the heatsink base. Since it is double sided, you can install the HR-03 either over the card or around/under the card, perfect for those who have the SLI or Crossfire configuration setup.

Thermalright’s HR-03 not only performs great, especially on high end graphics cards, but it looks good while doing it. Sleek yet aggressive design is sure to grab your attention!

Can't post a direct link sorry, because i would be banned / suspended.

7 series gpu hardly puts out any heat. would like to see that tested on a x1900xtx, as im sure lots of other people would like to see. gonna give it till next week if nothing pops up i guess i will bite the bullet and order one.

Would love to test one on my X1950 XTX but chances are i would kill it by fitting it..

I don't have a Good History with Graphics Cards. But its not my fault !! :p

ehhh?

whats the difference other than the colour between the:

Zalman VF900-CU Quiet Copper VGA Cooler (SY-008-ZA)
Zalman_VF900.jpg

and this:

Zalman FC-ZV9 Fatal1ty Dual Heatpipe VGA Cooler (HS-025-ZA)
Zalman_FCZV9.jpg

Basically the one that has Fatal1ty on it is roughly 40 times better than the Non Fatal1ty one.

Its all down to the sticker ;) :D

Yeah, thanks for the Thanks :p

Are you thinking of removing the cooler off your X1900 and putting the Zalman on ?

i only messing, thanks for the review link.

yea i have the vf-900cu lying around here. was wondering if i should take the time to slap it on or if i should just wait and see how the thermalright cooler turns out to be?

could use the combination of the thermalright cooler and a 9cm akasa amber fan. but first need to see some reviews pop up.
