I have a Q9450 which isn't overclocked and its running at 50 degrees min at idle. My cooler is a Zalman CNPS9900 NT. I have Arctic Silver paste on it at the minute however it was applied some 9 months ago or so, my case is an antec 902. Do you think reapplying the thermal paste would help the temps or would i be best off getting a new cooler.

Does seem a tad warm, check the heatsink for dust ect, then try and do a fresh install of paste.

I actually installed a new graphics card today(its been this temp for a few months) a 6970 and i couldn't see any dust around the cpu cooler but i will try cleaning it out and reapplying the paste if all fails then ill go for the new cooler.
