Hiya guys, having a few lil problems with cooling atm. :(
got a new x99 setup and had a H105 to cool it, but i was hitting high 80's when i was running stress tests after about 5 mins... but just put it down to a cheap AIO cooler.

so i decided to upgrade to a EK-Supremacy EVO, 280mm rad, and a XSPC Twin X2O 420.. but still only getting high 70's low 80's in stress tests.

after checking the H105, i noticed i wasnt getting perfect contact with the cpu on 1 corner even though i had lined up the cooler twice, and also checked all 4 corners were tightened..

took the CPU out and noticed it had a few little burs on the IHS, so shaved em off, but still getting bad contact in 1 corner (the bit thats still getting hot)

any ideas??

Getting a little ****ed that even after spending all the cash, im still getting bad cooling and contact :'(

ill give that a try tonight,
but have run the aida64 while watching voltages and temps, and voltage never goes over 1.19v,
i was gonna lap the IHS, just incase its a little bent or just not flat...but if the CPU IHS is faulty,, i cant get a return if i lap it lol.

realbench still gives about 80' after about half hour.
checked cpu mounting again, and still getting bad contact in same corner...
guess ill bite the bullet and lap it, seems the IHS isnt flat. but hey, if i **** it up, whats £300 ehhh? lol.
