Cooling my Denon AVR

My AVR gets far too hot in my glass fronted Besta unit, so I’ve bought a 200mm usb Noctua fan to act as an exhaust. Only problem is, once I plug it into my X2400H, it comes on. Is there a way to get it to only come on when the AVR is on? Don’t really want it to stay on 100% of the time.

That's weird. I had the same problem with my Denon 2300 and also have a USB fan plugged into the front USB port. But mine only comes on when the amp is powered on.

I went complete overkill and connected two fans to an eve energy plug, paired with a hue motion sensor so that the fans turn on when you go in the room. Not ideal but had no joy via usb.

You could try connecting it to a USB port on something else, like the TV.

USB port from the TV - this is what I do. I have the same amp and it used to get warm. When the TV is switched on the fan is on. However, I do have to have the door of the cabinet open to cool it properley.

i had the same problem jst last week with my new marants av,i bought a ac infinity usb fan,it has 3 speed settings,it was only 18 quid and cools it really well
