Cooling potential...

Because thick wouldn't fit, and I'm more wondering what I could get away with cooling for long term plan.

Wondering if I could get away with CPU + SLI or would I only be able to cool one gpu?

Probably not overclocking gpus, but may try overclocking CPU..

Yeah, I figured it might be a bit of a push for SLI :S... Hmm, back to the drawing board...

Maybe once I get some more measurements up of potential cases, I'll have more ideas of what I can stretch to rad wise.

Cases are a bit hit and miss at the moment, it's in the name of a large modding project, so I'm going through quite a few ideas. I know the variety of cases I could get inside out, it's just working out what might work... The biggest problem is I'm considering having fun with the roof of the case, and it would basically mean I couldn't mount a rad in the roof. Hence the challenge. Otherwise fitting in enough wouldn't be a challenge.

Saying that, I'm guessing you'd recommend, Switch 810, Shinobi XL, Elysium, Haf X, 800d. Which I've considered a couple of, but they're not going to meet my standards. TJ07 would be ideal if I didn't have to then fork out for the internals to be powdercoated on top...

Hmm, quick change in idea, but slightly related, might as well bump this, rather than start a whole new thread.

Would the suggested rads (2 30mm 240mm Rads), be able to cope a i5 and a single 480? I know the standard rule of thumb, but obviously 480 can run quite warm...

Just realised I should actually be able to fit 2 full size 240 rads... so 480mm full size for single 480 and CPU... Guessing to be honest I could run SLI and CPU off of 480..

Hmm fair enough. Yeah, I wouldn't worry at all if it was something like a single 580. i5 runs cool, but the 480 runs like, well a small star actually xD I've seen it hit 93 at load after a good solid gaming session... To be honest, quite excited to get it under water, finally I want have to work to the sound of fans....
