I've got this bundle for a friend

i7-930, Asus P6T Deluxe X58 mobo

In a bitfenix nova case using a Raijintek cooler

Case has 1 Corsair AF 120 rear exhaust and 1 Corsdair AF 120 front intake fan

Can anyone tell me if I can mount the cooler to have the fan pushing air out towards the exhaust rear fan? At the moment I have the cpu cooler fan forcing air down towards the gpu, which is causing overheating problems. I found that when mounting the cpu cooler the cooler would only face one way (up and down)

You can see from the pic I've got the cpu cooler fan on top, blowing down (2 long red arrows showing airflow) but that's blowing on to the gpu which is an internal exhauster itself (msi gaming 970) this just circulates hot air causing the cpu temps to hit 90 after playing GTA V for a while.

I want to be able to move the cpu cooler 90 degrees to have it sitting in pushing air through the cooler and out towards the rear exhaust like I have tried to show, also in the pic (3 red arrows and red box with the box being the fan)

You can see the attempt at what I want to do with the cooler lol, art not my strong point.

Bottom line is that I'm not sure I can mount the cooler the way I want to due to the mobo and the mobo mounting bracket. The backplate part of the cooler seems to only face that way (up and down) and won't let me have it facing right to left that I want. Is this a feature of that particular cooler or is it a mobo problem?

Sent this to Raijintek

I bought a Raijintek Adios cooler for my i7 930 cpu (Intel LGA1366 Platform) but the cooler doesn't let me mount the cooler so that I can push air out the rear of the case.
The mounting brackets have to be mounted horizontally, rather than vertically, with the net result you can only fit the cooler vertically, not horizontally facing as would be more suitable for a large number of cases, hampering case airflow, and also meaning the cooler cannot exhaust and cool as effectively as it should.. I don't want to have to start punching holes in the case to help hot air escape. I heard that you have an alternate mounting bracket that will let me mount the cooler the "correct way" What do I have to do to get one of these "alternate" mounting brackets as I'm really disappointed that I can't get cooling my cpu properly as the cooler itself is decent.

The person I was told to ask for was Tony Sahin at Raijintek

Please see the review dated 2014-11-19 - I have the EXACT same problem and need a solution please.

I read a review on the cooler page and apparently someoen else has the same problem. It won't mount horizontally for certain platforms - really poor imo.

Turn the cooler round so it is exhausting out the rear of the case. This is doable on older intel boards like the p6. Unlike some earlier AMD boards. And, a bit of cable tidying to improve air intake can help too.

LGA1366 has an 80mm square hole pattern. The cross brace parts of the cooler will therefore fit either way round. From the picture, am I right in thinking that if you try to fit the cross-pieces the other way round, one of them/the cooler itself interferes with the black heatsink underneath the cooler?

I have a Themis at home (they look to use the same mounting kit) and fitting the cross-pieces was a close fit against one of my VRM heatsinks, but it did fit.

The back plate won't affect the cooler direction, because as I mentioned above, the hole spacing is a square pattern.

AMD sockets won't let the cooler mount horizontally but that's because AMD use a rectangular hole pattern.
