Cooling question

Hi,

I have an Intel d975xbx board with a Core 2 Duo E6700.

I can overclock this fine to 3.2Gig but even at standard speed the CPU fan get really noisy at 100% CPU usage.

I guess I need something with a big heatsink and cooler to reduce the nose?

What coolers do people recommend?

WOW - they are huge - look ideal!

Are there any issues with mounting on a vertical board? They look very heavy!

I have the Noctua U12F and im fine with it mounted. Probs best to install it outside the case to the mobo before mounting the mobo. Also consider checking out the compatibility lists as i found the Noctua U12F was a really tight fit.

fitted and working great...

System is a hell of a lot quieter now.

Need to look at my case fan and a quieter PSU next ;-)
