Hey there guys just have a quick question, I am currently not overcloking but have just build a new pc and was doing some stress tests to check on the temperature My current build is Asus P9X79, Intel i7 4820k @ 3.7 the Ivy Bridge, 8GB Corsair Vengence 1333 Ram, XFX r9 280x, TX650 PSU and Corsair h75i Cooler, My cpu keeps stable at 35C on idle ( its a quite hot room ) when i stress test it i get 2 different readings from Core temp I get 80-85C at 100% and using the Asus Suit Sensor it shows around the 60C, so 1st I am not sure which is the correct temperature and 2nd is it a normal / safe temperature to run at 100%,

I would start with using core temp to monitor as it's more reliable than what you've mentioned. Safe temps for most CPUs would be 70-80, but they throttle around 85-90, chance of getting that close is very slim.

What CPU cooler are you currently using?

I am currently using the corsair H75 liquid kit its brand new I have put everything together yesterday could it be that its not settled in yet ?

When you're gaming, you can also use the new beta version of MSI AB, it also gives a readout of your GPU & CPU temp/loads on the ingame overlay.

I use core temp and Asus AI Suite to control the fans. When stress testing at 100%, Core Temp shows around 85C and the AI Suite shows about 55C. I think the Core Temp is the one to be trusted. My fans are set to start speeding up at about 45C in AI suite - just relative really.
