I'm thinking of getting an Athlon 64 3200/3500/3700 soon and am wondering what the quietest heat sink cooling solution is. Anybody got any recommendations? I will not be overclocking the chip so am looking for quietness.
Thanks.

Thermalright Si-120 + AKASA 120mm fan :)

In a minute the Arctic and Ninja brigade will be along! :p

Take your pick from:

Thermalright SI-120
Zalman CNPS9500
Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 Pro
Scythe Ninja
Thermaltake Big Typhoon
Gigabyte G-Power Pro

My choice would be the Ninja, with a Panaflo L1 120mm fan at 7V.

Thanks. How quiet is it? That fan seems to be spinning real fast ;)

I've seen the AKASA AK-920 mentioned to be running at 15db, anybody got that?

What model arctic cooler have you got?

i only have the 'normal' one... not even a pro which i imagine is even better. fans spins at 2000rpm on this one at full pelt and i have 2x120mm fans. temps at idle are 34C and at load are 52C @ 1.52v. central heating is on though so thats bmped it up a couple of degrees. :) considering the airflow in my case as well.... ie rubbish. :)

Do you kno what cfm and db them panaflo l1a wil do at 7v

Yate Loon D12SL-12 for silence.
Panaflos for performance.
Delta if you like having a jet engine in your room (but it *will* run ludicrously close to ambient).

Everything else is a waste of cash, and all stats but Yate/Sanyo/Panasonic/Delta are bunkus.
