Hi I am just doing some tests
I have a watercooled intel i7 setup in a cosmos s case, and looking into getting a window side panel for more eye candy.
I have tested by unpluging fan on side panel and temps on idle rise from 35 to 40 which is not bad and then after full load gameing or benchmarking gets to 50 were it used to be just over 40
Is 50 a safe temp when on full load everything else stays same as normal with or without fan so i no graphics stay realistic max between 60 and 70 after on load a while
I have 2 x 4850s on crossfire, i also have a xfi soundcard in between the gpus this is cause of positioning of pci slots, as i have a asus p6t board
Have had this setup 6 months we no issues just curious on whats a safe temp really.
One of main things was wondering is if by not having a side fan me soundcard could over heat with it being sandwiched between cards
Also anyone no were can get software to monitor soundcard temp
Any advice would be well appreciated Thanks
