i copied a CD, well DVD to be correct which had many files on it, but obviously less then 4.7GB as it fit on a DVD. I now go to put that data onto a DVD to backup the stuff but the data isnow 7.4GB so obviously can't be put on a DVD anymore. Problem im having is that i need the data to not be compressed, it has to be as is so that it can be used.

Now i noticed when i was selecting the folder to put onto the DVD in nero 6 (i think) that the folder seemed to be increasing in size but i did not know why. What im wondering is would nero have some reason increased the size, and is there a way in restoring the correct sized folder, e.g. going into safe mode and doing something there??? as i no longer have the original DVD

thanks chaps

CAnt you do a straight disc to disc copy?, or is that what it wont let you do?

like i said upstairs i haven't got the DVD anymore, i had it a little while back b4 i got my Lightscribe DVD's but i had to return it, so i just quickly copied all from the DVD onto my computer in hope that once iget my lightscribe DVD's i can just put the files onto one of them.

are you sure the original dvd wasn't a dual layer 9gb disc?

you could always buy a few dual layer discs, if its a one off they're not that expensive

Its not a movie, can't say what it is. Anyway wont DVD shrink make the files compressed? i guess the DVD must have been dual-layer then :( dual-layer means like 2 layers on one side right? not 2 of a DVD can be used? because it defiently wasn't the second one.

Where can i get DVD shrink from and is it free?
