With Copper being the best heat conductor is there a thermal compund out there that is 99% copper like arctic silver being 99% silver ?

Erm, Silver is a better heat conductor than Copper. If you've Googled the question "whats the best heat conductor" - you might have got confused with all those sites that say Copper is - but they're trying to sell Cooking Pots. There is a reason why Arctic Silver uses silver!

actually diamond is best, thats some real bling, check out my diamond heat sink.

carbon nanotubes are just as good but not really "available" :P

we're get nanotube heatsinks before we get diamond ones though :D

sorry to pick...but i believe Silver is actually better than gold. Its related to valence energy bands and electron shielding....but anyway Silver.

yeah to give you some idea:

The price of copper is $3.43 a pound.

The price of silver is $12.90 an ounce.

this was obviously on the day this was written......wtf am i doing looking up this kind of thing at 12:15 on a saturday night?!?!?!?
