Have recently been tinkering about with some old kit and ended up dismantling my old P3-650E system for the first time in over 7 years as I needed the case for something else.
As it has no real resale value and I probably won't use it for anything, I figured I may as well have some fun - hey, I break something it doesn't matter!
I remember years ago reading about how you could use thin wire to short out a couple of pins or something, to basically bump up the default voltage by 0.2v or so. It's got a default voltage of 1.65v iirc, but my mobo will only let me go up to 1.85v. I fancy shoving a bit more through it as it's rock stable at 140fsb but not at 150fsb (there's nothing inbetween). At the time I never tried it because I figured any kind of hardware mod (even if it's temporary) carries an element of risk, and I didn't wanna do that with a cpu that cost £190 at the time!
Can anyone give me advice on this and preferably point me to a guide (what pins to short out with pic, what wire to use etc?).
