Hi guys just a quick question (maybe) Just formatted my machine to get rid of the bloatware installed on it.
Now after installing Win 7 when i look at Device manager there is an exclmation mark in yellow with the tittle Coprocessor but i cant seem to get rid of this.
Anyone one know how to get a driver for this or whatever i need.

Machine is an Acer Aspire X1301.

Thanks

  • Download the nForce drivers from the nVidia site.
  • Then extract the exe's contents using 7zip.
  • Go to device manager, right click on "coprocessor" and choose update drivers.
  • Then choose "Locate and install driver software manually"
  • Then browse to the folder you extracted the exe's contents to.
  • Press next.... and it should install the drivers.

Did you get all the drivers from the Acer discs/website and install them?

The Aspire's are really weird and the two I have dealt with have absolutely required the exact drivers Acer supply. Annoying gits :(

Not sure if this will help but:

Go to device manager, properties of this device, click the details tab, select Hardware ID's from the drop down menu.

You should see a few lines of text that resemble:

PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_10DE.........

Next go here: http://www.pcidatabase.com/

On the website, under the Device search type in the number that comes after DEV_ in the Hardware ID's info, so in the above example I'd type in 10DE. This will then give me a list of devices with the ID 10DE, from here just scroll through the list till you find a device that matches the VEN_ number (8086 in my example) and voila, you know what or at least who makes the coprocessor device and hopefully give you some idea of what/where to potentially look for drivers.

In this example, the website will show device 10DE and vendor 8086 as an Intel Gigabit Network Connection

This method doesnt work for everything but it is handy for them pesky "unknown Device" entries you get occasionally :)

I have installed all the latest nvidia drivers but it still has the exclamation mark in yellow.

There are no drivers on the acer website other than lan ETC
All other drivers are meant to be provided by Windows lol.

Anyone simply explain how to sort this??

Thanks for your help guys

Right after a few downloads from nvidia, it has now been sorted not sure how i did it lol.

Thanks for the help guys

Are you sure you followed my steps properly?

When in device manager, try to uninstall any drivers for "coprocessor" before installing the drivers using my method.

Think maybe i was getting the nvidia instead of nforce drivers

Lol having a blonde moment i think

Thanks
