copy one user to another?

well i found the secret admin so i want to use that as my main user, how do i copy everything i have set up in my current user, and completely swap it to the admin?

If this is Vista you do it right at install not months later when you have lots of personal settings.

If this is Vista I would assume you mean the built in administrator account. DON'T use it, unless you like fiddling with policy settings this account runs everything with full administrator privileges, which is not required for apps these days.

I run that account and there is no need to mess with any Policies.

Sure its more dangerous if your stupid but gives more control to me as the only owner/user.

It gives you no more control than placing yourself in the "administrators" user group.

Technically it does. Accounts in the administrators group still run as standard users and are only elevated to administrator level when you try and do something requiring admin level privileges. The built in administrator runs at admin level all the time, unless you fiddle with local policy settings.

Yes it does, its the same as the Account you see in Safe Mode in XP.

I'm saying "what's the point in migrating to the built in "administrator" account?", when in reality, UAC disabled and being a member of "administrators" will let you do just as much.

How about showing me what being "administrator" gives me over just being a group member?

UAC is not Disabled using the REAL Admin account unless you do manually Disable it.

I do not get what you are trying to get at and what it has to do with the OP's query.

I have gave you info more than I need to since it has absolutely nothing to do with the OP.

I'm not in this thread to give you anything and you have given the thread nothing TBH.

I advise you go and read up on it from the MS link instead of repeating like a parrot.

I have guessed what he is asking as he is not clear on topic and told him when he should have done it (ie at install).

Guessed what he is asking?

Its pretty straight forward, he wants his current user state migrating to the admin account.

Hence I suggested the USMT.

IF you cannot work out a plain english, structured question (in the OP), I suggest you stay out of technical threads.

well yes i did mean in vista, i dont like how i am blocked from deleting folders in program files etc, and like in XP i want full control, the reasons are my own, why do i have to justify it?

i realise i should have done this after a fresh install i did last week, BUT i have just learnt of it.

thankyou for that program, im downloading it know and hopefully it works

This did flare up a bit! USMT will do it, just please be aware of the implications. You aren't blocked from doing things because Microsoft doesn't like giving you control, but as security against malicious programs. True practising safe surfing mitigates the majority of risks to your PC so in effect most security options are to protect the less 'adept', but I personally prefer the slight annoyance of Vista's security settings to the potential of browsing to a dodgy site by accident and spending the rest of the day fixing the mess.
