Is it possible to save a complete copy of a forum to hard drive, so it can be read while not online?

Just a forums that has a load of useful info on it, but I havent the time to sort through it yet, and will more than likely forget if I dont "rip" it soon. Its using phpBB.

Indeed it is possible :)

See here
It's only a 30 day trial, but if it's just the one site you want as a one off then it should do you well enough.

Is that what you're after?

If you use Firefox, search for an extension called SpiderZilla.

Only used it breifly, but it might do what you require.

I don't think that this will be able to download a 'forum'. That would require navigating every link, and saving every entry as HTML. Not to mention the load that would put on the servers...

I mean, you *could* do that, but it would take up a huge gob of space, and wouldn't be easily searchable.

If you tried doing it with these forums, your IP address would be blocked very quickly, wouldnt be surprised if other places were the same.
