Hi guys,

Just trying to copy today's full system backup, 290GB Macrium file, to my external 4TB WD drive and the process keeps stopping at 67%... The transfer speed just drops to 0 bytes and stays there.

I don't use my external drive a lot but it's reading files okay?

Any thoughts?

Either you local system disk C: or the destination is out of space mid copy. You effectively need 290gb spare on your system disk to do the copy.

USB3 drive? I've had that happen before now. In my case a Seagate 8TB external drive, and plenty of space on both drives. Can only put it down to a fault with USB3 drivers.

Thanks! Really weird you should say that, I infrequently get complete USB 3.0 failure on the system in question after some Windows updates. Just stops working; Renesas is it?

Everything appears to be working but obviously the is an issue. I copied/moved files bigger than 290GB last month, no problem.

This happened to me a few times copying large files and I pressed pause and then unpause and after around 20 seconds it continued copying

It can simply be Windows being Windows and happens to me on ESATE 6Gb/s so not just USB.

In days gone by like XP era there was (probably still is) better file managers than Windows Explorer if you do this sort of thig day in and day out.
