Copying/backing up files

Have 20+ gig of music on my main computer that I want to copy onto my spare pc as a backup. The network works and I can copy and paste files etc between shared folders but when I try to transfer the full lot it says that access is denied and to check the disk is not full or write protected.

The disk isnt full but if I right click on something it is read only and when I untick it and click apply as soon as I go out of properties and back in the read only box is ticked again.

Anyone got any ideas what the problem is? Ive done it before in the past without any problems

Suspect that a least 1 or more file/folder has different user permissions set.
Alter the permissions on all the files/folders that you wish to copy so that all users can read/write them or that your user can.

I think I have cracked it. When I shared the folder I hadnt selected "allow network users to change my files".

Thanks for the help though ns400r, I'll try that if it doesnt work the way Im doing it
