Hello.

I am trying to copy files from my host machine to my virtual machines but it is severely hindered by the slow speeds of 5-15KB/s. This happens on both my Vista VM and my newly built Windows 7 machine. I'm accessing files by using \\a-pc\c$ Does anyone know of a way to speed this up? I don't remember having this problem on XP VMs, but no longer have one to test it out on. Downloading from the internet is going at a nice smooth 1.5MB/s...

Cheers.

guest software installed? also transfer files via network or drag-drop between host and guest?

vmware,virtualpc or virtualbox?

Vmware. Sorry it was in the title but I edited it out and forgot to put it in the main body.

Transferring through the network. Drag and drop from the VM is fast, but copying from the host (via network shares) is dog slow.

Mine was the exact same, I posted on VM forums and was told by a mod to disable the following in my NIC properties > advanced:

Large Send Offload (IPv4)

As soon as I did, restart my VM's and files transfer were how they should be. Give it a try mate
