I have an ancient linux box that I need to lift a directory off and take it to any windows PC. I cannot for the life of me remember where to start, the most we've done with this box in the past 2 years is switch it on when the power went off :-P

it's running KDE if that helps! :D

I know samba is running on it as I started it earlier. It hosts part of the intranet (about 11Mb worth) it's an ANCIENT box, I dont even think it's got USB. i've no idea why they ever used it to be honest!

the part of the site it hosts is up and running, I can ping it but I can't connect to it by name or IP from any windows based PC.

ah there is a single USB port at the back of it, was covered by a gigantic ball of fluff lol I'll have a go at lifting it off with a usb lacie drive tomorrow, guessing I might have to plug it in before I boot i but fingers crossed!

off home, one of the benefits of being my own boss at the moment :D

lol great minds! I came in this morning (its a lot cooler today) RAR'd them, stuck it in the WWW folder and downloaded it. took about 5mins and I've NO IDEA why I didn't think of that yesterday!

cheers guys ! :D
