Copying iTunes between machines

I want to copy an iTunes installation between two machines - or rather I want the new installation to have the same files, playlists and ratings as the current one. Short of syncing with an iPod, what files would I need to copy?

hi mate
i recently did this on my machine that i boot xp pro, vista basic 32 and vista HP 64

basically i just put all my music into the itunes folder with a seperate folder for playlists and saved all those into there

copied it to my external drive and then once in vista basic [itunes doesnt work in 64] i went to add a folder in itunes and added the folder i made off my external drive

you could do the same and that way you get your full library

depending on your access to an external drive

otherwise i suggest syncing your ipod and then manually managing it on the new pc until all the files and playlists have gone accross

get rid of home basic and xp in one go then!!!
