Hi.
My 8TB drive has arrived.... Hoping to build my new rig before the NY.
If I plug the new drive into my current pc and then move my oculus library to the new drive.
Then when I build.my new PC and put the large drive in the machine will the files.i copied over reduce the data needed when I reinstall them on my new rig or will the Oculus software do a full redownload anyway?
Also is backing up saves a simple.copy and paste job?

I found moving game folders a bit hit and miss...you have to move the files and the contents of the "Manifests" folder and not just the "Software" (both within the "Oculus" folder).

Hope that helps...

I found it to be a nightmare when i migrated everything from my old rig. With the drivers being installed on the main ssd and the library dumped over to new storage drive, every time oculus dropped an update to a game it would hammer on my ssd. Naturally id set the game folder within the oculus software to pick up on my storage, but it didn't want to know with game updates. Waking up my rig in the morning to see it downloading the entire install of Asgards wraith over again because it wouldn't recognise that id updated the game already got old quickly.

Everything appeared to be in order, in the end No more Asgards wraith became the solution.
