Copyright exemptions?

I need to gather a list of copyright exemptions and some of you guys may have some interesting ones that aren't so obvious, i'm looking for things such as the single copying of an audio cd for personal use (i'm not even sure if this is legal?)

I think you can copy something like so many pages of a book for academic use without permission. something like 13%........

Cheers, I can use google, however I was after not so obvious examples that people may have experienced in their day to day lives...

IIRC you are legally allowed to use any music for the creation of parody (of said music).

nope iirc you need to ask -permission, hear this after weird al was pretty much told by eminems(?) label he could parody the song emenem found out said no, so he couldn't so from then on he's personally asked all the artists he parodies.

If your going to make money off someone else's melody just with different words it's still infringement afaik.
