Hi all,

Has anyone had experience buying a replacement battery for a cordless Dyson (V6 etc)?

Ours is gone after 4 years and dyson want ~£70 for a new oem one. There's various aftermarket alternatives online for ~£30-40 and I'm wondering if anyone has had any experience with any of them?

I know the world of aftermarket batteries is a bit of a minefield and I'm probably being cheap in not just going straight to dyson...but I can't help feel like some of the aftermarket stuff must be ok.

Cheers

Yes did it recently. And has been working great on my V6. Just Pick the one with the best reviews, unfortunatly the one i bought the listing isn't there anymore only the version for the v8.

this one has good reviews

Yep - several times with great success.

IIRC the 'top one' stated it had Samsung cells. It is working really great since Feb 2018; in daily use.

Edit: which reminds me, I still have the old one on the side waiting to be recycled. What a dirt bag I am.

Replaced our V6 battery a few months ago with one off amazon, changed the filter whilst at it. Very easy job and transformed the hoover as it was a family hand down when I bought my first house.

My V6 battery failed just outside the guarantee period. I emailed Dyson and they sent a new one out for free. Probably worth a shot with a vacuum of any age!
